Chromepet to Anakaputhur: 6 km west for specialist dentistry
Chromepet is about 6 km from the clinic, and the drive is essentially GST Road north to Pallavaram, then west on Pammal Main Road. Reckon on twenty to twenty five minutes. The GST Road stretch between the MIT flyover and Pallavaram is the slow part, particularly between 6pm and 8pm.

The route from Chromepet
Head north on GST Road from Chromepet to the Pallavaram junction, then turn west on to Pammal Main Road and follow it through Pammal into Anakaputhur. Drivers who want to keep off the GST Road stretch cut west through Nemilichery and Polichalur instead.
Chromepet has no shortage of dental clinics along GST Road. What brings people out to Anakaputhur is usually a specific specialist: an orthodontist for braces or aligners, or someone to take on a root canal in a molar that a general practice has struggled with.
The student population here, from MIT and the colleges around it, is a large part of what we see from Chromepet. Braces started in the first year of a course and finished before the final year is a common pattern, with adjustment visits fitted around class timings.

Why the trip is worth it
Chromepet patients tend to be younger: college students and people in their twenties and thirties working along GST Road. Orthodontics is the main reason they make the trip, followed by laser treatment for gum problems. Both need repeat visits, so the slot running to 9pm matters more than the distance.

Questions we get from Chromepet
When is GST Road at its worst for this trip?
Between six and eight in the evening, on the stretch running up to Pallavaram. Leave before six or after eight and the same drive is a noticeably easier one. If a 6:30pm start is all you can manage, say so when you book and we will hold the slot rather than give it away.
Can I come by train?
Chromepet to Pallavaram is one stop on the suburban line. From Pallavaram station take a share auto or a Kundrathur bound bus for the last stretch west, which runs about fifteen minutes depending on the junction.
I am a hostel student here. Can I be treated without a parent coming along?
If you are eighteen or over, yes. We write the plan and the cost down before anything is started, so you can send it home and talk it over first. Under eighteen we need a parent or guardian with you for the treatment itself.
